NEW DELHI | AUG 19, 2020:

The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 19, ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over investigations into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death and ordered Mumbai Police to hand over all evidence it has collected to the investigating agency.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also stated that the FIR registered in Patna based on a complaint filed by Sushant Singh's father was correct and that Bihar was competent to ask the CBI to investigate the case.

On June 14, the 34-year-old Rajput was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. He had reportedly been suffering from depression. Mumbai Police launched an investigation, stating that the death was being treated as a suicide.
