Red Fort closes for two days after 15 crows die on its premises

Authorities have restricted the entry of public into the Red Fort till Friday after a sample of a dead crow tested positive for bird flu.

Around 15 crows were found dead in the premises of the Red Fort on January 10.

An Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) official said "usually the monument shuts down every year by January 21 for the Republic Day. But this year, as a precautionary measure, we have closed it two days earlier because of the bird flu."

Over 1,200 bird deaths have been reported in Delhi in the last 15 days amid the avian influenza situation.
