Railways Tribute: Howrah-Kalka Mail renamed as ‘Netaji Express’

Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal paid tribute to Netaji's Subhas Chandra Bose by renaming one of its oldest trains as 'Netaji Express'.

In honour of our freedom fighter, who was born on January 23, 1897, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the railway has decided to rename one of the oldest trains, Howrah-Kalka Mail as the ‘Netaji Express’.

“Indian Railways is happy to announce the naming of 12311/12312 Howrah-Kalka Express as “Netaji Express”, said Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

“Netaji’s 'prakram' had put India on the express route of freedom and development. I am thrilled to celebrate his anniversary with the introduction of “Netaji Express”, he added.
