PM Modi will join India-EU summit virtually

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Portugal for the India-EU summit has been cancelled due to the second wave of COVID-19. The India-EU Leaders’ meeting will take place in a virtual format on May 8, 2021. 

"In view of the COVID-19 situation, it has been decided to hold the meeting virtually in consultation with the EU and Portuguese leadership," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.

He also said that this meeting reflects the shared ambition of both sides to further deepen the strategic partnership.
