PM Modi interacts with doctors over COVID-19 situation in India

The meeting was conducted to assess the current COVID-19 situation in the country and to chart out the future course of action to deal with the second wave of the virus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with leading doctors and pharma companies from across the country through video conferencing on Monday.

The meeting was conducted to assess the current COVID-19 situation in the country and to chart out the future course of action to deal with the second wave of the virus.

During the meeting, Modi discussed about medicines, oxygen, ventilators and vaccination with the different states.

Notably, there has been a shortage of essentials like oxygen supply and medicines like Remdesivir and many states complained about the dire state of affairs.

With the shortfall of medical supplies, states across the country been deliberating on steps to tackle the grim situation.

India recorded 2,73,810 fresh infections and 1,619 deaths in a record high in the last 24 hours on Monday taking the country’s total active tally to 19,29,329.
