PM Modi addresses inaugural conclave of Shikshak Parv; launches key initiatives for education sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the inaugural conclave of “Shikshak Parv 2021”, a 12-day event to honour the valuable contribution of teachers, via video conferencing

Interacting with teachers, students, academicians, parents and various stakeholders, PM Modi launched several schemes for the educational sector which he said will bring about an educational revolution in the country.

The various schemes under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 included Indian Sign Language Dictionary (audio and text embedded sign language video for the hearing impaired, in conformity with Universal Design of Learning), Talking Books (audiobooks for the visually impaired), School Quality Assurance and Assessment Framework (SQAAF) of CBSE, NISHTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat, and Vidyanjali portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and CSR contributors for school development.

The schemes are aimed at making education inclusive and equitable that will help students in their day-to-day tasks, besides familiarising them with the use of digital tools for better access to education, stated Modi while launching the schemes.

“Shikshak Parv”, which began on September 5, will continue till September 17.
