NATIONAL | JUNE 23, 2020:

Patanjali on Tuesday, launched an Ayurvedic medicine, Coronil, to help treat Covid-19 patients.

Patanjali's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Acharya Balkrishna, earlier claimed that the company had discovered a cure for COVID-19.

"We appointed a team of scientists after the Covid-19 outbreak. The simulation was done, and they identified compounds which can fight the virus and stop its spread in the body. Later, we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and the results were a 100 per cent favourable," Balkrishna said.

"After taking our medicine, Covid-19 patients recovered within 14 days. So, we can say that the cure for Covid-19 is possible through Ayurveda. We are performing controlled clinical trials at the moment. We will release evidence and data after a few days," he added.

Meanwhile, Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev substantiated Balkrishna's claims by stating that patients who were given Coronil did in fact exhibit a 100 per cent recovery rate.

"The entire world was waiting for a cure. We are proud to announce that the first Ayurvedic medicine has been prepared by the combined efforts of Patanjali Research Center and NIMS," Ramdev said.
