Man arrested for rape, blackmail of student for six years

On Thursday, a man was arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 23-year-old Law student on several occasions in Ghaziabad's Masuri area.
According to police, a 32-year-old man residing in Masuri had threatened the woman of making her obscene video public if she did not marry him.
The woman belongs to Delhi and is a fifth year Law student in Masuri.
The victim in a complaint stated that her aunt lived in the same neighbourhood as Akram and that's how she came to know him and his family.
She stated, that when she was 17-years-old, Akram used to call her to his house and offer her drinks laced with sedatives. He, thereafter, raped her. He also made an obscene video of her and raped her on several occasions by threatening her to make the video public. Akram had started to pressurise her to marry him even though he is already married with four kids.
"On Tuesday morning, the accused reached the woman's college and tried to misbehave with her. Then the woman narrated the entire matter to her family. The complaint in the case was filed on Wednesday evening," said Omprakash Singh, the SHO of Masuri police station.
Akram has been booked under IPC Section 376.
