India shows dip in new COVID-19 cases, 37,154 cases recorded in last 24 hours

With this, India's active caseload of COVID-19 cases stands at 4,50,899, and the cumulative fatalities due to the viral infection reached 4,08,764.

NEW DELHI:

India registered 37,154 new COVID-19 cases, including 724 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours on Monday, informed the Union Health Ministry.


With this, India's active caseload of COVID-19 cases stands at 4,50,899, and the cumulative fatalities due to the viral infection reached 4,08,764.


Meanwhile, recoveries in India continue to outnumber the daily new cases as the recovery rate has reached 97.22 per cent, showing a sustained increasing trend.


According to the Union Health Ministry, India has administered 37,73,52,501 COVID vaccine doses to date since the commencement of the vaccination drive on January 16.


The testing capacity too has been ramped up with 43.23 crore tests conducted so far, stated the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
