India registers 51,667 new COVID-19 in last 24 hours, active caseload declines

The country also witnessed a total of 64,527 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as recoveries continue to outnumber the daily positivity rate for 43 days in a row.

NEW DELHI:

India registered 51,667 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours on Friday with over 1,329 deaths, the Union Health Ministry informed.

The country also witnessed a total of 64,527 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as recoveries continue to outnumber the daily positivity rate for 43 days in a row.

According to the Union Health Ministry, there are about 6,12,868 active cases in the country at the moment, and with a recovery rate in excess of 95 per cent, the caseload will further decline in days to come.

Meanwhile, a total of 30.79 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far during the nationwide vaccination drive, of which 60.73 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday.
