India records less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases after 132 days

A total of 415 COVID-related deaths were also recorded within the same period taking the cumulative death toll to 4,21,832.

NEW DELHI:

With 29,689 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours on Tuesday, India recorder the lowest number of active cases after 132 days, informed the Union Health Ministry.

A total of 415 COVID-related deaths were also recorded within the same period taking the cumulative death toll to 4,21,832.

The active cases in the country now stand at 3,98,100, and the positivity rate has gone down to 1.73 per cent, which is again the lowest in 124 days.

India also registered 42,363 recoveries in the last 24 hours with a recovery rate of 97.39 per cent, informed the Union Health Ministry.

The Ministry also informed that 44.19 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
