India records 41,506 new COVID-19 cases, 895 deaths in last 24 hours

The active caseload in the country now stands at 4,54,118 cases, and the cumulative fatalities due to the infection have touched 4,08,040.

India registered 41,506 new COVID infections and 895 deaths in the last 24 hours on Sunday, the Union Health Ministry informed.


The active caseload in the country now stands at 4,54,118 cases, and the cumulative fatalities due to the infection have touched 4,08,040.


Over 41,000 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 2.99 crore, the ministry informed.


According to the Union Health Ministry, the recovery rate has reached 97.20 per cent, while the daily positivity rate is at 2.25 per cent, signaling the retreat of the deadly second wave.


The Union Health Ministry informed that the country has administered a total of 37,60,32,586 COVID-19 vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive which commenced on January.
