Govt caps trade margin for five medical devices at 70 per cent

The five devices are Oximeter, Blood Pressure Monitoring Machine, Nebulizer, Digital Thermometer and Glucometer.

The centre has capped trade margin of five medical devices at 70 per cent of the price at the distributor level to ensure affordable health care for everyone.


The five devices are Oximeter, Blood Pressure Monitoring Machine, Nebulizer, Digital Thermometer and Glucometer.


The Chemical and Fertiliser Ministry decided to regulate the prices of the essential medical devices keeping in mind the evolving COVID pandemic which has crippled the health system of the country.


The Ministry has stated that the revised price will come into effect from July 20, 2021, and every retailer, hospital and institution must display price lists of these medical devices as furnished by the manufacturer.
