FACT CHECK: Centre to deduct allowances of govt employees; Really?

Social media was abuzz with talk of deduction in certain allowances like HRA, OTA, Leave Encashment, LTC, Travel allowance, etc. in the wake of dearness allowance (DA) freeze. This forced the Press Information Bureau to come forward and issue a clarification.
The PIB fact check process confirmed that there was no proposal at the Centre to deduct any allowances of the central government employees and any such news was 'fake news.'
Government has rejected a report doing rounds in the social media on deduction in certain allowances of Central Government Employees.
Citizens are requested to not to pay heed to such misleading information and do not fall for it.
