Dumped by girl, 19-yr-old kills self

NATIONAL | May 20, 2019:

After being dumped by a girl, a 19-year-old boy commited suicide by consuming poison in Mysuru district's Nanjangud Rural police station limits on Saturday.

According to reports, the boy took the extreme step after making a velfie-
a video version of selfie – in which he blames the girl. He ended his life when his mother was at a private hospital undergoing treatment for an illness.

The video which was shared by the boy to his friends before committing suicide, says that the girl had gave him "poison" along with her marriage invite. The girl had recently sent photographs of her engagement with another boy. The video has since gone viral on social media.

Police said that the boy was an SSLC dropout and worked in a bakery in Mysuru's Belavadi for a while. A police officer said his mother wasn't keeping good health for some days and was admitted to a hospital in Nanjangud.

The boy took the extreme step near a lake on the outskirts of his village when his parents were in the hospital.

In the two-minute-57-second video, the boy says he didn't want to live as the girl was everything to him. "During a visit to Mysuru zoo, she made me sign a note that held me responsible in case I ended my life," he says.

He requests police to send the girl to jail along with her mother and grandmother for abetting suicide. "The girl must neither die nor live happily. She must spend time behind bars," he says in the video which ends with an apology to his parents and friends.

Sources in the police department said they haven't received any death note or the video. They have registered a case of unnatural death and launched a probe into it. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Police said.
