COVID Update: India's recovery rate more than 95 per cent as active cases further declines

NEW DELHI:

India has reported less than 9 lakh active cases after 70 days and the daily recoveries have continued to outnumber the daily new cases for 34 days consecutively, the Union Health Ministry informed, on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the number of new cases reported in the last 24 hours is 62,224,  while at the same time, 1,07,628 patients have recovered.


A total of 2,542 deaths was reported yesterday, according to the Ministry data.


Meanwhile, the total recoveries across the country so far are 2,83,88,100. The recovery rate in the country from the virus has increased to 95.80%.


The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 4.17% while the daily positivity rate is at 3.22%. 


26.19 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far and, the testing capacity has substantially ramped up, with 38.33 cr tests in total being conducted so far.
