COVID Update: India sets new record administering over 54 lakh vaccine doses in a single day

NEW DELHI:

India has administered over 54.24 lakh vaccine doses across the country on Tuesday, which is the highest ever recorded in a single day so far, the Union Health Ministry informed.

According to the ministry data, 50,848 new coronavirus infection were reported in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 82 days. The total active caseload has further declined to 6,43,194.

As of June 23, the recovery rate has also increased to 96.56 per cent, after 68,817 patients recovered on Tuesday. A total of 2.89 crore patients have recovered from the virus across the country so far.
 

The number of COVID deaths reported in the last 24 hours is 1,358. 

Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate and the daily positivity rate remained below 5 per cent, currently at 3.12 and 2.67 per cents, respectively.

A total of 29.46 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive, across the country to date.
