NEW DELHI:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Thursday, submitted the evaluation criteria to the Supreme Court through which Class 12 students results would be evaluated and the results will be declared by July 31.

The new assessment formula would take into account 30 per cent of performance from class 10 for best three performing subjects in the board exams, 30 per cent from the class 11 final examination while 40 per cent from class 12 concerning the unit test and mid-term, as well as pre-board exams conducted.

Practical or internal assessment marks of the Class 12 students will be taken as uploaded by the school on the CBSE portal.

Furthermore, the total marks awarded should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in Class Board examinations.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court (SC) has given the CBSE and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) a green signal to notify the criteria for the assessment of marks for the 12th standard students.

"Students can take up the exams when the situation becomes conducive in case of any dissatisfaction with the assessment criteria," the Court said.

The submissions were made before a bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari during the hearing of the petition filed by Advocate Mamata seeking cancellation of the CBSE and ICSE exams written exams.
