Cab driver sexually assaults student after drugging her

In a horrific incident, a JNU second year student was allegedly drugged and raped by a cab driver while she was returning from her friend's house on
Friday night.

The 21-year-old woman told the police that she had boarded the vehicle
from the Mandir Marg area and the cab driver drove for around three
hours after raping her.

The complainant was found in semi-conscious state near a park in south
Delhi by some locals who got her admitted to a hospital where doctors
confirmed a sexual assault.

After she was discharged, the complainant managed to reach her hostel and narrate the incident to the authorities.She was taken to the police station for a statement and a case was registered.

In her statement the woman said that the cab driver had allegedly offered her something due to which she fell unconscious. After this, he had raped her in the cab.

Police are trying to track down the cab based on her description. The woman hails from western Uttar Pradesh and is pursuing a foreign language course in JNU.
