1383 new COVID-19 cases reported in India in last 24 hours, 640 deaths so far

NATIONAL | APRIL 22, 2020:

A total of 1383 new confirmed cases of Novel Corona virus have been reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 19, 984.

Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that 3869 patients have been cured so far. During the last 24 hours, 50 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to 640.

Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR has tested 4,62,621 samples so far. Around 26,943 samples were tested yesterday by the various government and private laboratories in the country.

ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for COVID-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, 217 government laboratories and 87 private laboratories' chains have been given approval to conduct the test for COVID-19. So far, ICMR has validated 34 real-time PCR kits for detection of COVID-19.
