1. Nagaland's KNCT Sanctuary wins India Biodiversity Awards 2021

In a virtual celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Khonoma Nature Conservation & Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS) in Nagaland was conferred with the India Biodiversity Awards 2021, under the category ‘Sustainable Use of Biological Resources.’

2. Oxygen Express arrives in Assam, CM to supply oxygen to other NE states

Following the arrival of an Oxygen Express, carrying 80 metric tonnes of medical oxygen in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that surplus oxygen will be distributed to various northeastern states.

3. 400 railway passengers skip COVID-19 test in Assam's Jagiroad station

Evading the mandatory COVID-19 test, at least 400 passengers rushed out of a railway station in Assam without going through proper testing procedures. 

4. Nearly 100 monks in Sikkim test positive for COVID-19

Altogether 100 monks have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Sikkim. 

5. Centre to decide Class XII CBSE and state boards' exams by June 1

The Centre will decide on the conduct of the Class XII exams by the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) and other State Boards by June 1.
