Meghalaya: Asha conference held in Nongstoin

An Asha conference organised by the Block Programme Management Unit under the National Health Mission (NHM) was held in Nongstoin on Tuesday.

The conference aimed to impart training to the Ashas on various health facilities provided by the Health Department and improve the service system for the wellbeing of the public.

Around 80 Ashas under Nongstoin Block attended the one-day programme.

The issues brought up for discussion included identifying COVID-19 patients, adhering to preventive measures such as wearing masks, hand washing, sanitising and social distancing.

Other highlighted issues included spreading awareness on the safety and importance of vaccination, identifying high-risk pregnant women, anaemic women, adolescents and children.

Others who attended the programme included Para Mediacal Assistant (PMA) Nongstoin CHC L Kharmawlong, Block PHN B Snaitang, Junior Specialist W. Sutnga, District Program Manager (DPM) NHM I. Gymphad, District Community Process Coordinator (DCPC) NHM H.L Marshillong, and the BPM of Nongstoin Block, J.P Hoojon.
