MUMBAI:

Amid the political crises emerging in Maharashtra following the transfer of Param Bir Singh, the Maharashtra Police Department transferred as many as 86 personnel on Wednesday.

The transfer comes after Hament Nagrale took charge as the new Police Commissioner of Mumbai.

The development also comes amid the opposition alleging the ruling Maharashtra Government of shielding criminals.

They transferred some top cops in the crime department, including Riyazuddin Qazi and Prakash Howal of the Crime Intelligence Unit.

The NIA also questioned them for their alleged association with suspended officer Sachin Waze.

Waze is currently in NIA custody for his alleged involvement in planting an explosive in a vehicle near billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s residence.
