WASHINGTON:

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Wednesday said that the United States is determined to help the people of India in this moment of crisis.

“The United States is determined to help the people of India. We will continue to stand together in our shared battle against Covid-19,” Sullivan tweeted on Wednesday.

Sullivan’s comments come after the White House announced it would deliver emergency COVID-19 supplies worth over USD 100 million to India.

Sullivan, in an earlier call with his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval, said the Biden administration had announced a series of COVID-19 relief aid to India.

President Joe Biden had also spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and assured him that the US would support India in its fight against COVID-19.

According to official sources, the Pentagon will deploy its resources as well.
