Sedated lion cub used as bridal photoshoot "prop", netizens express anguish

ISLAMABAD:

Netizens and various animal rights activists expressed anguish over a bridal photoshoot with a sedated lion cub, in Pakistan on Monday.

Reportedly, in a video that went viral on social media, a lion cub was sedately used as a prop and was seen lying between the couple.

Subsequently, netizens took to Twitter and Instagram to condemn the act and sought punishment for cruelty against animals.

"What's wrong with people, a sedated lion cub as a "prop" the couple starting a new life & the studio who did that should be ashamed," resented an Instagram user.

"Which clause of the wildlife laws allows for a lion cub to be rented out for ceremonies?" wrote another netizen.

The video was posted on the Instagram story of Studio Afzl (a Lahore-based photography studio), Gulf News reported.
