Israel's new Prime Minister Naftali Bennett vows to unite nation

Naftali Bennett, the newly elected Prime Minister of Israel has vowed to unite the nation frayed by four elections in two years of political stalemate.

Bennett said that his government would work for the public, and the new government's priority would be to bring about reforms in education, health care and remove obstacles that pose a threat to economic development.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's longest-serving Prime Minister, who lost the keenly contested elections, will remain the leader of the opposition of the right-wing Lukad party.

Netanyahu lost to Bennett with a thin vote of 60-59 in the 120 seat chamber.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden welcomed the new government and said that he will look forward to strengthening the close and enduring bilateral relationship.
