Indian Football captain Sunil Chhetri tests positive for COVID-19

Indian Football Captain Sunil Chhetri on Thursday announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 36-year-old who also leads the Bengaluru FC tweeted about his COVID-19 test report, and also said that he hopes to recover soon and get back to playing.

“In a not-so-happy update, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. In better news, I feel fine as I continue my recovery from the virus and should be back on a football pitch soon,” Chhetri tweeted.

The footballer further added, “No better time to keep reminding everyone to continue taking all the safety precautions always.”
