India vs Australia Series: Highlights of Day 2 at Sydney

 |

SYDNEY:

India finished the second day of the Sydney Test at 98/2 on Friday, trailing behind Australia’s first innings total of 338 by 242 runs.

India started the innings rather emphatically with Rohit Sharma and Shubham Gill hitting some great shots, but Australian bowlers knocked both the batsmen before they could find their pace.

While Sharma scored 27, Gill stood out and got his maiden 50 in the Test format. After India lost both openers, the two new batsmen on the pitch had a very steady start with Cheteshwar Pujara (9) and Ajinkya Rahane (5).

Earlier, the Australian team showed up incredibly well with a remarkable century by Steve Smith, which gave the team a decent total (398).Both teams are currently tied 1-1 in the Test series.

The final will be played at Brisbane from January 15, however, a three-day lowdown is a cause for worry. The 2020-21 India tour of Australia has been very exciting so far with Australia winning the One Day International series 2-1, and India bagging the T20 series 2-1.
