Doctors face probe for conducting surgery with mobile flashlight

VARANASI:

Authorities have ordered a probe against the doctors and paramedical staff of Sir Sunderlal Hospital (SSL) Hospital under Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for conducting dental surgery during a power cut.

According to reports, the medical team conducted dental surgery using their mobile flashlights despite being aware of a power shutdown.

The team landed in trouble when they recorded a video of the operation and posted it on social media.

Taking serious note of the incident, the university administration constituted a team to probe the matter after serving notices to all those present during the operation.

“A team has been constituted to probe the entire episode, and action will be taken as per the report of the committee,” the dean of the dental science department, Vinay Kumar Srivastava, said.
