Delhi police bust three illegal call centres, 37 held for duping foreign nationals



Three illegal call centres were busted by Delhi Police on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of 37 people for duping foreign nationals.

The accused were pretending to provide services for Apple and Amazon Tech Support, sources confirmed.

Reportedly, the workers at the call centres used to extract money from foreign nationals by sending voice recordings, and claiming to be from the US Drug Enforcement.

"Different accused persons were running illegal call centres in Bindapur and Janakpuri...Out of the 37, including managers, supervisors and operators, nine were from Bindapur, and 28 from Janakpuri," an official statement was reported by ANI.

Seized items include 56 desktops and, 41 phones.

Meanwhile, the money earned from duping amounted to Rs 10 crore.
