Meghalaya government to strictly enforce night curfew to control COVID

The East Khasi Hills (EKH) District Administration has promulgated night curfew under Section 144 CrPC together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020, in the East Khasi Hills district between 10 pm to 5 am with effect from 21 to 31 October or until further orders.

The curfew has been imposed in view of the prevailing situation concerning COVID-19 in the state and to put in place preventive and mitigation measures so the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, reduced and eliminated in East Khasi Hills district and Meghalaya.

However, exemptions granted to officials, non officials and essential services as per the curfew order issued on 18th October 2020 will continue, stated the District Magistrate.
