Two ZUF cadres killed in factional fight in Manipur

IMPHAL:

Two cadres belonging to the proscribed group of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) were killed in an encounter between factions, on Friday night at Leishok village in the Noney district of Manipur.

The two deceased persons have been identified as Bacham Lonvan Inpui (25) of Puichi (Oktan) village in Tamenglong district and Jangampou Kamei (24) of Longmai part 5 in Noney district.

According to reports, a factional fight occurred between ZUF (J) and ZUF (K) in Subunglong that falls under Khoupum police station in Noney district wherein two cadres of the same group i.e. ZUF (J) were killed by the other faction - ZUF (K).

Police sources said that one-armed rebel was killed on the spot while the other succumbed to his injury.
