IMPHAL:

The All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) has decided to go ahead with the proposed 48-hour bandh from October 26 over the non-timely conduct of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections.

A meeting between the state government and ATSUM was held at the office of the Minister of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Vungzagin Valte, on Saturday wherein the ADC elections 2020 was discussed.

After a lengthy discussion, the state government has said that the proposal to conduct the ADC election will be discussed in the next cabinet meeting and has requested ATSUM to suspend the proposed 48-hour bandh.

However, the ATSUM, after consulting its federating units, decided to go ahead with the proposed interstate bandh.
