Manipur: 18-year-old accuses cousin of rape at Thoubal

IMPHAL, August 26: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly abused sexually by her cousin identified as Naorem Mani (39) from Kairembikhok Mayai Leikai, Thoubal.

The incident came to light around noon time at the mentioned area when the victim was alone in her room. Taking advantage of the quietness, the assailant, who lived next door, entered her room and tried to choke her throat with his bare hands using brute force. Hearing her screams, her family members rushed into her room and was able to rescue her.

The attempts to arrest the accused has been made by Thoubal police after registering a case regarding the crime.
