At least 9 NDFB cadres held from Indo-Myanmar border

GUWAHATI | December 3, 2018 (IANS):

A joint team of Army and police arrested nine cadres of the anti-talk faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Sunday evening, officials said.

The cadres were returning to Assam after completing their training in Myanmar, Defence Spokesman, Lt. Col. A.P. Khongsai said here.

He said that intelligence was gathered from ground sources in the last two months about NDFB(S) cadres returning from their training camps in Myanmar for attempting to carry out subversive activities.

"The complete group was busted while infiltrating into India from their training camp in Myanmar. An Ambush was established on their infiltration route and all nine cadres were nabbed," he said adding that the operation also resulted in recovery of weapons including AK -47, AK- 56, pistols and various other ammunitions.
