3 jawans from Assam injured in blast by naxals in Jharkhand

GUWAHATI | May 29, 2019:

On Tuesday, a total of fifteen CRPF jawans and Jharkhand police including three COBRA personnel from Assam were injured in a blast that took place in Kuchai area of Saraikela Kharsawan district in Jharkhand.

The incident took place when the personnel were undertaking special operations, an IED was detonated at around 5:00 am by suspected Naxals.

After the blast, the naxal had fired at the security personnel who fired in return. The naxals had managed to escaped.

Thirteen jawans from 209th battalion of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), two Jharkhand Police personnel and a unit of the CRPF got injured in the blast, they were later airlifted to Ranchi.

The three CoBRA personnel were identified as Mijanur Rahman from Boko in Kamrup district, Sunil Kalita from Dimu, Rangia in Kamrup district and Sambhu Mallah from Hojai in Nagaon district.

Their family members said that the injured have been presently admitted in Bhagawan Mahavir Medica Super speciality Hospital in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
