Security Forces recover cache of arms from Manipur's Bishnupur district

IMPHAL

Security Forces on Friday seized a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation at Nambol Khathong Maning Pat in Bishnupur district of Manipur.

The search operation was carried out by a combined team of CDO-unit, Bishnupur and a column of the 16 Assam Rifles.

The weapons seized include – one AK-56 rifle, one F AK-56 magazine, two 9mm pistols, two 9mm pistol magazines, one .22mm pistol, one .22mm pistol magazine, five lethode bombs, one hand-held set, 22 AK-56 ammunition, eight 9mm ammunition, ten .22mm ammunition, nine M-16 ammunition and one M-16 grenade.

The seized items were handed over to the Nambol Police Station (PS) for further action, and a case has been registered at Nambol PS for investigation.
