Manipur: Newly elected BJP MLA from Singhat to be sworn-in on Oct 28

The oath-taking ceremony of a newly elected member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Ginsuanhau Zou will be held on October 28 at 2 pm at the Office Chamber of the Assembly Speaker.

Ginsuanhau won the Singhat assembly seat after his opponent, Chinlunthang, an independent candidate, withdrew his candidature, enabling BJP to open its account in the by-election, unopposed.

As per an affidavit submitted, Ginsuanhau's highest educational qualification is class V, which he passed from the Serou Nepali High School in 1974.

His total asset is said to be around three crore rupees -- one crore each in his account, his wife's and one of his dependents.

Manipur goes for by-polls on November 7 in four assembly constituencies, out of the five, as Singhat has already been sealed by the BJP unopposed.
