OTTAWA:

EasyDNS, a Canadian Internet service provider which supplies DNS and web hosting services, became the first Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) registrar to accept Dogecoin (a cryptocurrency invented by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer) as a mode of payment.

“Continuing in our tradition of being a cryptocurrency trailblazer, we are now accepting DOGE payments for all services,” the Canadian firm said.
The firm also stated that they were the first to embrace the various cryptocurrencies which are currently thriving in the market.

“We were the first ICANN registrar to accept Bitcoin, the first to accept Ethereum, the first to accept Litecoin and now… DOGE,” it added.

This is a big win for the cryptocurrency that has been rising fast on the market this week.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been an avid supporter of digital currency.

On February 15, Musk posted the following tweet, “If major Dogecoin holders sell most of their coins, it will get my full support. Too much concentration is the only real issue imo.”
