Woman trafficking continues, two from Assam rescued in Delhi

GUWAHATI: Trafficking of Northeastern girls to various parts of the country seems continues despite stringent laws as two girls from Assam have been rescued in the national capital Delhi.

Delhi police have rescued two girls from Assam at a brothel in the national capital on Tuesday.

Sources told  in New Delhi that acting on a tip off police and a local non governmental organization conducted a raid at a house in the wee hours where the girls were rescued.

Both the girls are believed to have hailed from Bongaigaon district who have been remaining untraced for the last couple of months.

Delhi Police are in touch with their Assam counterpart to send back to Bongaigaon. Investigation is on to nab the traffickers.
