Tripura: Jail superintendent and two others suspended as three murder convicts flee from jail

AGARTALA: Two police personnel including one jail superintendent were suspended centering absconding of three murder convicts from central jail in Sepahijala District. The three convicts are yet to be caught.

The three suspended include the Jail Superintendent, in-charge of Bishalgarh Central Jail – Santosh Bahadur, Head Warder – Abhiram Majumder and Warder – Ashukumar Jamatia.

DGP – K Nagraj, Chief Secretary Y.P Singh, Sepahijala District Magistrate – P.K Chakraborty and other officials recently visited the Bishalgarh Central Jail. During their visit, they checked the infrastructures of the jail. Later, they sent a report on the basis of their observation to the state government.

After seeing the report, the government suspended these three jail personnel. Three prisoners who are life-term imprisoned, fled away from the central jail in Sepahijala District’s Bishalgarh on Friday night.

They are identified as Swarnakumar Tripura (23), Rabindra Tripura (30) and Milan Debbarma (38).

They were convicted of three separate murder cases.
