Tripura: Govt likely to refurbish road near Dipa's house for BMW car

AGARTALA: It seems that the Tripura’s Left Front government has realized the poor road conditions that had forced Dipa Karmakar to return the BMW car.

Ruling party sources claimed that the state government has decided to refurbish the road infront of her house at Abhoynagar so that the BMW car could be run.

On the issue, CPM party secretary Bijan Dhar said that the government has decided to renovate the road infront of Dipa’s house. Currently, it is in tender process. The project might cost nearly Rs. 70-80 lakh.

She came into recent attention due to her family’s decision to return the BMW car due to lack of its service centre and poor road conditions.

Dipa, silver medallist shuttler star P.V Sindhu along with her coach P. Gopichand and wrestler Sakshi Malik were gifted with a BMW car each in August for their performance in the Rio Olympics during a function in Hyderabad organized by Hyderabad Badminton Association.
