Security measures across Charilam constituency in Tripura have been tightened as the counting and the result of the by-poll elections will be declared tomorrow on March 15. The counting will be conducted in 12 counting places and it will begin from 8 am. The rooms are under strict vigilance and protection under the observation of Central Armed Forces and the security of the whole area has been geared up.
“80.79% voting was completed at the Charilam Constituency, a total of 29750 voters have cast their votes at Charilam”, informed Chief Electoral Officer, Taranikanti.
The victory of BJP candidate and the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister of the state Jishnu Devvarman is almost confirmed as the main opposition party CPI(M) has withdrawn their candidate from the election as a mark of protest against the post- poll violence that occurred in the state.
