Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb yesterday visited Sonamura after the stoppage of the border fencing work at Sonamura by the local villagers. The Chief Minister held a high level meeting with BSF officials and with top administration officials of Sonamura district at Sonamura Revenue Dakbanglow. He also instructed them to finish the remaining work of border fencing.

“Our relationship with the neighboring country Bangladesh is very good. So, if we do Export-Import with them then it will be beneficial for both the countries. Our state has jack fruit, pineapple, rubber, electricity, cashew nut etc which could be exported to Bangladesh. We have discussed this issue with NITI Aayog as well. So, people will earn white money through Export-Import and that’s why illegal smuggling must be stopped immediately”. Said, The Chief Minister.
Biplab Kumar Deb also attacked the Ex-Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar for not doing any development work in Uttar Paharpur village in Sonamura District.
“Today after visiting Ghosh para my heart goes out to the people out here . Here marriage functions can’t be conducted because of bad road condition. And in the constituency of Ex- Chief Minister, Manik Sarkar there is no road neither they have any pure drinking facility. For the last 25 years there has only been “loot raaj” in the name of development”.
