Tripura: State police launches 14 GPS cop patrol vans

AGARTALA, June 17, 2018: Tripura police, on Saturday, launched 14 GPS-enabled mobile police patrol vans in the city to facilitate a more accurate and quicker response to emergency and distress calls.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony at Tripura police headquarters, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said his government was committed to providing people with accountable governance.
He said the BJP-IPFT government would work to make Tripura "corruption-free and crime-free".
"Our government is not working with a partisan approach. We want to work for everyone. This service should have been added to the crest of the state police much earlier. The erstwhile (Left Front) government didn't do it. But it will change now," Deb said.
He said anyone in distress can call 100 and police will arrive shortly to provide aid.
"Police of the people will stand with the people," Deb, who also holds the home portfolio, said.
