Tripura government has decided to implement a district-level centralized kitchen for serving Mid-Day-Meal in schools from the next academic session.

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that some states have adopted the service from outsourcing agency to keep parity in the menu as well as maintain the quality of food and nutrition value and Tripura government has decided to start the model on an experimental basis.

According to him, hot cooked food will be supplied under the Mid-Day-Meal scheme to all the children of Primary and Upper Primary classes studying in government and government-aided schools and Madrassa institutions across the state in a phased manner.
