Tripura: State allotted Rs 25crore for hydrology project


AGARTALA, July 31, 2018: A total of Rs. 25 crore has been allotted to Tripura for a national hydrology project for improvement, accessibility of water resources information and strengthen the capacity of water resources management institution in state.

Regional director of the Central Ground Water Board, G.M. Mina, while addressing a seminar on  State-specific groundwater issue held at Prajna Bhawan had said that Tripura would get Rs 25 crore for the national hydrology project for improvement and accessibility of water resources.

He added, "The main objective of this project is to create standardisation of scientific data-based resources which can be easily accessible, user-friendly and reliable".

"Altogether 48 implementation agencies are involved with this project. Tripura is one of them and the PWD is dealing with this project," Mina said.

He also said, "The project started from 2016 and will continue till 2024 and the eight-year project will be funded by the World Bank and the Centre".
