Sikkim | Speaker declares beginning of Special Gram Sabha Mission

• Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly Kedar Nath Rai announces the beginning of Special Gram Sabha Mission.
• Activities under the mission to be carried out by the Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Rural Management & Development Department and State Rural Development Institute.

Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly Kedar Nath Rai has announced the beginning of Special Gram Sabha Mission in the State from Tintek –Chisopani in South Sikkim.

The ongoing activities under the mission are being carried out in the state by the Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Rural Management & Development Department and State Rural Development Institute.

The Mission has been launched in Sikkim at the instance of Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Under which each State has to convene Special Gram Sabha till November- December 2018.
Simultaneously the data on Antodya Mission will be collected through the mobile app, to assess the economic condition in the villages.
