Shillong turmoil: Army to carry out flag march in disturbed areas of city today

As normalcy is slowly returning to Shillong after 6 days of turmoil in the city's main commercial hub — Motphran and its adjoining areas, the Army will continue to carry out flag march even today to ensure that peace is not disturbed.
According to Defence officials, as an aid to Civil authorities, on the requisition of State Administration, the Army plans to carry out another flag march today.
The march will take place between 4 pm till 5 am tomorrow in disturbed of Shillong city under Command and Control of Lt Gen DS Ahuja, AVSM, GOC 101 Area.
It may be mentioned that the district administration has imposed a curfew from 4pm today till 5 am tomorrow in Shillong Agglomeration in view of the law and order situation in the city.
Meanwhile, the The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has declared June 6 as Dry Day throughout the East Khasi Hills district on account of Curfew being imposed.
All bonded warehouse/IMFL shops/bars/hotels/clubs and outstill shops shall remain closed on this day.
