Northeast Daredevil Girls to perform in Rajpath on Republic Day

Guwahati Jan 25,2018: In what can be termed as a proud moment for NorthEast, an all-woman biker contingent of BSF :the Daredevil Girls  will showcase their talent at Rajpath for the first time on the occasion of Republic Day.

This year's Republic Day is special in many ways, one of the reason is Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited the 10 ASEAN leaders to observe the celebration.

The announcement was made by the PM on his monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat' and stated that the arrival of 1o leaders from 10 different countries of the world as a unit is a matter of pride for India.

The 10 leaders from ASEAN are invited because the Southeast Asian bloc completed its 50 years of formation and the year also marked 25 years of India's partnership with the grouping.

Apart from this, another reason why this year's Republic day is special is for the first time the all-woman biker contingent of BSF, 'Daredevils' will perform at Rajpath.

The all-woman biker contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) will perform on 69th Republic Day parade. The contingent has riders from three north-eastern states including Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya.

As per the information, the BSF unit of the Indian Army has trained 113 woman bikers. All these 133 women bikers will be riding on 26 350-CC Royal Enfield motorcycles to perform acrobatics and stunts.

The bikers, in the age group 20 to 31 years, led by Sub-Inspector Stanzin Noryang, 28, from Ladakh, will perform stunts displaying a mix of India's military might and cultural prowess.

Along with this, the tableau's from the Northeastern states like Assam, Manipur, and Tripura will be presented to showcase their traditional culture and heritage of NE.
